The mission of the North Florida Sewing Center is to provide a safe space for collaborative efforts using needlework arts to promote health and sustainability for humans, animals and our environment.
Wondering what we do?
We make reusable, washable pads that are used to manage menstruation and incontinence. We designed a product that is not copyrighted so anyone can make their own and adapt the pattern to their needs. We distribute these items locally and around the world.
We make quilts for people transitioning out of homelessness (i.e., staying at GRACE Marketplace, Arbor House, Created Gainesville, etc., and refugees).
We use odd donated fabrics and our small scraps to make beds for companion animals.
We host and support other groups that do community service through needlework arts.
We welcome any and all who wish to serve!
